Within the framework of the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, an International Round Table was held on the topic “NATIONAL LITERATURES OF THE ETHNIC GROUPS OF KAZAKHSTAN AS A FACTOR OF STRENGTHENING PATRIOTISM, MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING AND TOLERANCE”, organized by the Institute of Literature and Art named after M.O. Auezov, the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, the Council for Russian Literature and Literary Relations of the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan and the Literary Club of the Republican House of Friendship.

The round table was attended by famous literary scholars, art historians and cultural experts, who shared their diverse opinions on the role of literature in modern society and its influence on international relations. The following issues were discussed during the event:

“Factors of modern reception of national literatures of Kazakhstan” – Chairman of the Council for Russian Literature and Literary Relations of the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan, member of the International Kazakh PEN Club and the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan, academician of the International Academy of Sciences, writer, translator, PhD, professor, Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi Zhaksylykov Aslan Zhamelevich;

“Literature as a connective tissue of a multinational society” – Head of the Science Department of the International Center for the Rapprochement of Cultures under the auspices of UNESCO, Chairman of the Literary Club named after Abay of the Republican House of Friendship, member of the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan Tolmachev Valery Gennadievich;

“Kurdish literature as part of the cultural heritage of Kazakhstan” – President of the K.I. Mirzoyev Foundation, Deputy Chairman of the Association of Kurds of Kazakhstan “Barbang” Mirzoyev Vezir Knyazevich;

“Reflection of life reality in modern Kazakh literature” – Head of the Department of Kazakh literature and fiction journalism of the Independence period of the Institute, Doctor of Philology, Professor Orda Gulzhan Zhumaberdikyzy;

“Originality and dynamics of development of national literatures of Kazakhstan” – Head of the Department of International Relations and World Literature of the Institute, Member of the Board of the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan, APK, NEC APK RK, Deputy Chairman of the NEG APK of Almaty Svetlana Viktorovna Ananyeva;

“Memoir genre as a factor in bringing ethnic groups of Kazakhstan closer together” – writer, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, Deputy Chairman of the Council for Russian Literature and Literary Relations of the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan Vasily Vasilyevich Shupeikin;

“Gerold Belger as a Kazakhstani writer united cultures and eras” – editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Deutsche Allgemeine Zeitung”, chairperson of the Club of Ethnojournalists of the APK RK Klimenko Olesya Sergeevna;

“Word as a magical power in the works of Stanislav Lee” – deputy head of the department of Russian and foreign literature of the RUDN named after P. Lumumba Galay Karina Nazirovna (Moscow);

“Kazakhstani performing arts: a laboratory of uniqueness and diversity” – head of the department of theatrical arts of the Institute, candidate of art history, member of the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan and theater figures, academician of the IAS Mukhan Amangeldi Orazbayuly;

“On modern trends in Uyghur prose in Kazakhstan (2000-2020)” – Chief Researcher of the Institute, Doctor of Philology Khamraev Alimzhan Tilikovich;

“Ideas of historical interdependence and rapprochement of cultures in the life of Olzhas Suleimenov at the beginning of the 21st century” – PhD in history, Deputy Director for Science and External Relations of the International Center for the Rapprochement of Cultures under the auspices of UNESCO Krupko Igor Vladimirovich;

“Publications of works by writers of ethnic groups of Kazakhstan on the pages of the magazine “Prostor” – writer, editor of the prose department of the literary and artistic magazine “Prostor” Bakanova Tatyana Vasilyevna;

“The prose of K. Paustovsky in the assessment of literary criticism of Kazakhstan” – doctoral student of the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi Isaeva Aigul Arysbekovna;

The moderator of the event was the head of the department of world literature and international relations of the Institute of Literature and Art named after M.O. Auezov, Svetlana Viktorovna Ananyeva.

The round table featured poems by O. Suleimenov, K. Mamsurov and Kurdish poets. Raushan Burkitbaeva – Nukenova read her poetry.
