Auezov Institute of Literature and Art, established in 1934, traces its origins to the National Cultural Research Institute of Kazakhstan, founded in the same year. This institute was dedicated to the study of history, archaeology, language, literature, folklore, as well as visual arts, music, theater, and choreography. In August 1961, the institute was named after M.O. Auezov. In November 1963, a literary-memorial museum of M.O.
