«THE ROLE OF M.O. AUEZOV IN THE FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF LITERARY STUDIES AND LITERARY CRITICISM IN KAZAKHSTAN»

Abstract of the project: This research project will be implemented under the leadership of D.A.Kunayev. The research area of the project manager is the Kazakh literary studies, including Auezov studies. This topic has not been fully explored, which in turn will give an opportunity for in-depth research the creative writings of the Kazakh classic and his connection with modern Kazakh literature. The new project is a continuation of the research work related to the study of the scientific and critical legacy of M.O.Auezov. The project idea is the study and comprehension of the richest literary and literary critical heritage, reflecting the writers' thoughts during decades, which had not previously been thoroughly investigated. In the work the following methods will be used: comparative, comparative-historical, as well as systemic-functional research methods. Thus, demonstrate the important stages in the development of Kazakh literary studies and literary criticism of the first half of the XX century based on the example of M.O.Auezov's scientific and critical articles. The end result of the project will be a collective monograph, which will be of great interest to scientists-phylologists not only of the Republic of Kazakhstan, but also of foreign countries. The monograph can later be used as a textbook for students of higher educational institutions and a wide range of readers interested in the creative work of the great Kazakh writer. Aims and objectives of the project: According to this, the main goal of this project is to investigate issues related to the history of research on Kazakh literature, creative interaction between Kazakh literature and literature of other peoples in the previously unknown materials of scientific and critical legacy of M.O. Auezov. The following objectives will be studied in this project: – in-depth study of the literary and critical articles of M.O.Auezov, as an example of high culture, as intrinsic critical judgment due to its accuracy, a precious testimony of an intelligent and memorable eyewitness, who witnessed three epochs of Kazakh culture. – explore publicistic activity of M.O.Auezov. Publicism is an important part of the literary heritage of M.O.Auezov. In his early journalistic works M.O. Auezov expresses conviction in the need for radical transformation of society, they include the developments on concrete transformation of the Kazakh steppe. – study the scientific works of M.O.Auezov in the field of history of Kazakh literature, folklore, interrelations of literatures and other areas of spiritual component of the Kazakh nation. – rethink the works on literary studies of the Soviet period through the prism of discussions about literary methods, history and essence of the State which was built during the period of Soviet power.
